Ran the half today and was not sure how it was going to go because of the head cold all week and lack of speed training.  I was shooting for 1:12-1:13 with not feeling 100% and felt like I could handle that.

The gun went off and just kept everything nice and relaxed.  I felt good through the first lap and was running mainly with Dave and Clyde.  I extended a slight lead of only a couple seconds and hit mile 9.5 and my nose was clogged and I could feel the effects of the head cold really kicking in.  I was right on pace through 10 with what I wanted today but the last 5k wasn't happening.  I wanted to be done but I decided to push through this.  To add injury to insult I had to maneuver my way through runners on the 2nd lap which made for quite an interesting finish.

I was happy to finish and push through the yucky feel of being sick.  Happy to see many other bloggers run so well.

I need to get my butt in gear now.  No questions asked!

Logan, that cold certainly doesn't help matters. And I know this only a blip because physically you are one of the strongest distance runners I've seen on the blog. I want to see that 2:20 guy again..

Good start to the year. Expecting big things the next few months.

Bummer about the cold. I think being sick for a week takes it out of a person.

Yeah good race with the sickness. I'm still glad you kept it up and finished. A 1:14 isn't what you wanted but it looks better than a 1:20 or a DNF. We're getting there bra.

Hey Coach, nice job running with a cold. I was glad to do the same down there even though the outcome sucked. Youll be there dont fret the small stuff.
