12 miles this afternoon.

5 easy miles this morning.  The quads were a little sore from last Saturday.  I will treat this week as a recovery week.  I will probably hit around 100 miles this week.

I got home from practice and it was nice and chilly (39 degrees!)  I did my North Ogden rolling hills out and back route.  I didn't take my watch but just tried to enjoy running in nice snow flurries while watching some people mow their lawn.  Yikes!

Another nice and chilly 5 easy miles this morning.  Quads feel much better.

Another chilly and windy 12 mile run up into North Ogden.  The weekend weather shows that it is supposed to be about 65 degrees.  My fingers and toes are crossed!

Slept in a little but still got the 5 easy miles in.

You got to love it when it is hailing outside in April.  I did just over 12 miles at 6:19/mile overall.  Glad to have this run in the books.  Speed workout on the track tomorrow.

Easy 5 miles this morning.  Looking forward to that weekend weather.

I had planned on doing a speed workout on the track but the wind and hail deterred me from it.  I just did an easy 12 miles this evening.  If it is good weather I will do my speed workout tomorrow.

Everything is about the same for my morning runs lately.

I got home and did a nice 3.25 mile warmup and then hurried over to Ben Lomond's track for my speed workout.  It was quite windy and a little chilly but it was clear blue skies and I knew I needed to get this workout in.  I did 8x1000m with 1:15 recovery in between each one.  Paul wanted me to hit about 3:07 for each one.  I hit 3:07 for the first one, 3:06 for the next 4, 3:05 for the next 2 and finally 3:04 for the last one.  I did a 2.75 mile cooldown and called it a day.  This was a nice push considering the wind was blowing pretty good.  It made me focus on my form and really fight through the wind.

I got to sleep in a little since the track meet got moved for a little later in the day.  I woke up at 6:00 and had my 2 1/2 hour run to look forward.  I decided to try and different route instead of the North Ogden rolling hills one.  I went out to Fremont High school and back.  Paul told me to keep the pace steady so I was thinking low 6:00 miles.  It was a cold 25 degrees that early but I warmed up pretty quick once the sun came up.  I got out to Fremont and was feeling good.  I decided to push it a little bit more for the trip back to the house.  At about mile 18 or 19 my body started to get a little tired but I surprisingly kept pushing and consistently hit low 6:00's.  I finished the 24 miles in 2:27:44.  I averaged 6:09/mile overall for the entire run.  This run was almost as good as the 24 miler I did a couple of weeks ago.  I know these 2 1/2 hour long runs are really getting my body primed and ready for Ogden.
