Met up with Dave and some of his kids to do my workout this morning.  Nothing like getting a big workout in on my day off and then coming home and doing yard work for the rest of the day.

I started out with a 3 mile warm up before anyone else showed up and then I did 8 x 1000m with 200m recovery.  My times were: 3:09, 3:08, 3:07, 3:08, 3:11, 3:13, 3:13, and 3:11.  My last 4 were not that great but I was still happy with the workout.  I did the first 5 with Dave and then the last 3 by myself.  I cooled down for 2 miles around DI and then enjoyed the rest of the day working in the yard.

Great start to the week.

I got to bed early last night and woke up around 4am this morning.  I couldn't get back to sleep so I was out the door by 4:30am.  The moon was out and it was perfect running weather.  I ran the Snow Canyon Parkway which is something I haven't done in a long time.  I did the run at 6:50/mile with 8 x 100m strides at the end.

Big workout this morning.  It was the same workout as last Saturday.  The only difference was that I wanted to make this run a little more hilly.  I did a 2 mile warm up and then did 6 x 5:00min. @ MP w/2:00min. recovery.  I did the first one up towards Snow Canyon State Park and then the rest around Ivins and Santa Clara.  Everything felt good and I finished with a 2 mile cool down.  I ended up averaging 6:35/mile.

Did a new route through Ivins and then Santa Clara.  Nothing crazy fancy but I did enjoy a nice relaxing run.  Stomach was acting funny this morning.  7:06/mile.

I was supposed to be going to Salt Lake today but the weather is not that great so I am staying home.  I might hop in the race tomorrow to use it as a workout.

Katey and I were planning on going up north this weekend but we didn't go due to the weather being bad.  I decided late last night to hop in the Dogtown Half Marathon and use it as a nice workout.  I figured I could pace others throughout the race for a nice push.  I got over to the start and did just over 3 miles worth of warm up with Dave and got ready to go.  It was rainy and windy so I told Dave to just draft off of me for how ever long he needed to.  I didn't wear the Garmin but rather used the handy Timex.  We went out and Theo Martin came with us.  Dave tucked in behind me for just about 8.5 miles and then he took off.  I turned around and waited for Steve and then pushed him in.  We were able to catch a guy who was just in front of us.  I was happy to see Dave take 2nd and then Steve finish very strong.  I did a 2 mile cool down with Dave and some of his high school boys and called it a day.

Happy to have a solid 3rd workout in for the week.  I feel great right now but just need to stay healthy and hope everything keeps going in the right direction.
