3 miles in the morning.

7 miles total this afternoon. First afternoon practice which is always an adventure. The team actually did quite well considering we did our dirt hill repeat workout. 6x500m for me. Really looking forward to an exciting year.

3 miles this morning.

5 miles this afternoon setting up for the 1st time trial of the season at BHNP. It was super hot and muggy but I was happy with how the kids ran. I think they were a little disappointed plus we have a bunch of sick people but the times were faster than last year for our first one. Some went much faster. Need to get to the Cedar All-Comers next Tuesday.

5 miles with the girls really working on grouping. They are getting better. They just need to keep it rolling. Nice and easy over to Little Valley Park. Picked it up a touch at head.

Biggest day for me in a while. It felt good. I have kind of decided that I am just going to focus on the new baby coming in a couple weeks and coaching the team. I will probably do a 2:50 pace group at St. George if anyone is interested in joining. I will be pacing my beautiful assistant Mark Madsen. I just need the rest of the year to not stress and just continue to enjoy running and then gear up for next year.

14 miles this morning down the marathon course for my first time this year. Napped in the bed of a truck on the way up so that was nice. I ran with Steve and Aaron for the first 10 miles and we were moving along with a nice clip. Stopped and got water and then went for it. I just wanted to do 4 miles of a nice push at the end. I hit 5:36, 5:31, 6:03 (up Winchester), and then 5:40 to finish it up. Nothing spectacular but it felt good to get the legs moving a little.

4.75 more miles at practice this morning. I was trashed so I did the warm up and then jogged around while the team did our big fartlek workout. Very, very happy with the way it went. A great way for the team to end the week after the transition to the afternoon and running specifically in the heat.
