10 miles this morning.

10 miles in the evening.

I went out on the Snow Canyon Parkway this morning.  I kept it nice and easy this morning.  I want to make sure I am fresh for this weekend.

I met up with everyone at the Dixie Center and ran along the trail.  I did a mile warmup before everyone showed up.  We did a 5 mile run and then stretched out before we started the 2 mile tempo run.  I hit 5:07 and 5:15 for the 2 miles.  It felt really good.  I felt really loose and the legs were extending better than they have for a while.  I owe it all to the massages and the stretching I have been doing lately.  I then did a 2 mile cooldown.  It was fun running with all the guys this evening.  It was quite a group.

11 miles in the morning.

9 miles in the evening.

I woke up and was feeling really good.  I went into Entrada and it was really beautiful once again.  The weather was great which made for an enjoyable run.  I averaged 6:50/mile overall.

The Celtics were smashing the Lakers so I went out for my run at halftime of the game.  I went out along the Snow Canyon Parkway.  I swallowed some bugs and got my protein for the day.  Kept it nice and relaxed.

 8 miles in the morning.

6 miles in the evening.

I went down around the high school into the Santa Clara valley.  It was a nice morning for a run.  I am going to keep the miles relaxed and easy for the next day or two with a slight taper in order to be ready for Wasatch Back.

I went out for another easy 6 miles.  I went out into Ivins.  It was a little hot but not that bad.  Good spaghetti dinner afterwards.

On a side note, I decided to shave my beard into a Brian Sell 'stache.  I am no Brian Sell but I figured I should do something to spice up Wasatch Back.  I will try and get a picture up.  Nobody in my family thinks it looks good.  Oh well!

6 miles in the morning.

5 miles in the evening.

Slight taper for Wasatch Back.  Went out towards Ivins again.  I ran the last mile with my little sister who is training for her first St. George Marathon.  I think she is going to do well.  Now I get to run errands until we take off for up north.

5 miles right after we ate Subway for dinner up in Orem.  It wasn't sitting very well for any of us.  Not even .13 into the run we all had side aches and were not feeling good.  We finally relaxed and everything was okay.

4 miles in the morning.

3.88 miles in the evening.

4 easy miles with the "dudes" in Orem.  Now we are heading up to Logan for Wasatch Back.  Yeah!  It should be lots of fun.

I could write a lot of details about Wasatch Back but I will let everyone else elaborate.  I was in Van 2 for the White team.  It was Seth, Taylor, Adam W., Clyde, Dave, and me.  We had Seth's brother-in-law who made it very fun.  I was really excited for this.  I started my first leg at 9:59pm.  It was the leg that starts at the bottom of Old Snowbasin Rd. and goes up half way.  It was a 3.88 mile leg and I it took me 24:35 to go up so I averaged 6:21/mile overall.  In the words of Clyde, "It was a motha!"  Really glad to have this one over.

11.49 miles for my 2 legs today.

I ran my second leg  of 4.53 miles in 25:31 for an average of 5:38/mile.  It was a nice gradual uphill climb.  I had close to 40 roadkills on this one.  My last leg started right after the Ragnar leg.  Seth, who is part mountain goat, beat his previous time from last year for a new record.  Unbelievable!  I started and had about a mile uphill and then it dropped off into Deer Valley.  It was extremely steep and knew my quads were going to be trashed afterwards.  I had 2 miles straight down and then about a .25 uphill.  This didn't feel good.  I then dropped back down and had a slight uphill while then finishing all downhill.  I didn't want to hammer it that much but it didn't help out that much.  I did the 6.96 miles in 36:46 for 5:17/mile overall.  It should have been faster but my legs were trashed.  I didn't want to hurt them more than they needed to be hurt.

I had a great time seeing everyone up at the race.  It was great seeing both teams take 2nd and 3rd respectively.  Not bad at all!  I had a great van to be in and it was really nice getting to know everyone better.  Time to get rid of the Brian Sell 'stache or Katey might hurt me!

I am going to really revamp the training and be focused for Twin Cities.  I want to get some good hill training in with some quality speed work in on top of the mileage.  My hamstring seems to be ready for it all so here we go.
