First day of cross country practice and I couldn't be happier.  Lots of kids came out and the boys are looking good for a strong showing this year.  I am going to need some girls to step up big time this year.

I ran a little before practice and then finished the rest up with the team.  Nice first day and I am happy to back into cross country season.

Did another 6 miles this afternoon in the heat.  It was really hot.  I finished my run at my parent's house so I could jump in the pool to get refreshed.  It was a nice reward for the run.

6 miles this morning.  Another solid group of kids out for cross country.  Nice to see a lot of kids out this early.

Another 6 miles around Ivins and then finished up at my parent's house.  It was nice and warm so I took the Camelbak.  It was very helpful having that.  Consistency is still helping me out.

3 easy miles with some of the cross country kids this morning.  I am still pumped about the season.

Got home from a busy day of doing graduate school work and decided to take Norah out for a good 6 miler in the jogging stroller.  The wind was slightly blowing and we took a lot of water so it wasn't to hot.  She sat up the whole time and loved the run.  She had it easy while I did all the work.  It was fun though.

6 miles in the morning over by the high school.  Ran a few with some of the kids.  The morning runs are slowly starting to warm up.  Yeah :)

Another 6 miles this afternoon in the lovely heat.  I took the Camelbak again.  I think this will be a lifesaver for me.  Once again I finished my run at my parent's house so I could jump in the pool.  The body is happy to be running more consistent as of late.

Nice 6 miles this morning while doing some of the miles with the kids.  Now off for more homework for graduate school.

Ran again this afternoon pushing Norah in the jogging stroller.  She loved the wind blowing in her hair.  She kept one of my hats on the entire time for protection from the sun.  She loved stopping every once in a while and getting sprayed by the water from people watering there lawns.  Good solid run.

I have decided to run a 50k trail race over the 24th down in San Francisco.  Katey and I had our honeymoon there and we are going to go back and visit from friends.  It looks like a good race and I am excited to be gearing up for an official race.

I ran from my house this morning and then did the Barrel Roll trail twice.  I ran the trail counter clockwise and then went back out and ran it clockwise.  I really wanted to focus on hydrating because that has been my problem in the past.  I had the Camelbak and then a hand held with Cytomax in it.  It worked out perfect.  I wasn't trying to worry about how fast I was going but just enjoying the moment.  I ran the entire run in just over 2 1/2 hours.  Nothing fancy but a very good trail run.

On my second loop I caught up to a mountain biker leisurely going up the hill.  He saw me coming and then kicked it up another gear.  Always fun chasing bikers!

This is my best week of running in a long time.  Just need to stick with it.
