6 easy miles this afternoon.

8 miles total this afternoon. Ran 5x1000m with the team. Ran a couple with Laynee and the girls and then two with the boys. I think the speed is slowly coming back. Finished with a 3:04 on the last one.

4 easy miles this morning.

8 miles total this afternoon. Took the team over to Pioneer Hills on a new trail. I think they really liked it. Weather was crummy so we didn't go as long. I extended to get a few more miles in.

3 easy miles this morning. Cold.

10.25 miles total this afternoon. 3 miles running with some of the new girls this afternoon encouraging them that running is awesome and is a great metaphor for life. Hopefully it helped.

7.25 more miles marking Barrel Roll for the Red Mountain 50k this weekend. The Clifton is a pretty sweet shoe. Glad to have got a pair to try on the trails. Very soft!

Slept in and decided on no run because of the 50k tomorrow. We had our first track meet this afternoon and it went very well. Lots of positives from today.

I signed up for the Red Mountain 50k and had a bunch of the team run the half marathon today to help support Steve and Kendra at the SGRC. The race course got switched to all the trails across from the Jacob Hamblin home. The 50k did loops on all the great trails out there. Rim Rock, Rim Reaper, Barrel Roll, Black Brush, Precipice, Suicidal Tendencies, and Upper and Lower Graveyard back to Unity Park in Ivins. It was awesome.

Started the race with Dave (he was running the 30k) and some of my boys. We had a couple guys with us on the first climb and I wanted to push the pace a bit. The first 5-6 miles we were pushing the pace and I knew I needed to ease off the throttle a bit. I ended up running a little bit with James on Barrel Roll which helped for conversation but then I was on my own the rest of the way. Got a little lonely but I really enjoyed the scenery. The course measured long at 32.5 miles. Such are trail races with a little extra distance.

I drank plenty of fluids, had 6 Gu's, and ate three bananas with two heavenly oranges. I also wore the Hoka Clifton and absolutely love them for the trails.

I just had a really fun time today and that was the goal. Getting out on the trails is just a nice stress relief. I am considering a 50 miler in the summer. Loads of fun today.

On a side note, 6 of the top 10 were from my team in the boys race and I had one girl place 3rd overall on the women's side.

Great way to end the week!
