Item off the Bucket list was checked off today. We drove over to Lake Tahoe and I really wanted to run some of the Tahoe Rim Trail. Started at Mt. Rose Summit and ran to Spooner Summit. The whole run I had incredible views of Lake Tahoe. It was absolutely breathtaking. The first 10 miles were nice and relaxed high fiving hikers as I ran by them. I had the next 7 miles be a lot of climbing back to one of the peaks. The last few miles were rolling hills which were a great release from the legs. I didn't start until a touch later but the temps were mid 70s with lots of mountain breezes throughout the entire run. I kept seeing signs saying to watch out for bears and cougars. Luckily I didn't see either of them. I also was grateful to find three big patches of snow so I enjoyed sucking down on that. Probably not the smartest thing but oh well. It was great! One of the best parts of the run was finding a well pump that had freezing cold water to refresh myself. It was on top of the mountain in the middle of nowhere. Awesome stuff. I ended up hopping in Lake Tahoe to reward myself for the run. Spent the entire run above 7500 feet!

25 total miles and a memory I will never forget. Ate at T's Mexican Rotisserie after wards. The veggie burrito was to die for!!!

That sounds AMAZING!!! Our oldest will be attending UNR (leaving in a couple of weeks). I look forward to many trips to Lake Tahoe! They have an XTERRA there as well! Anyways, congrats on a beautiful bucket list run!
