Went up to Enterprise today to do the 10k.  I haven't raced a 10k in about 3 or 4 years so I guess it was time to run another one.  It was cooler up there so that was a nice break from the St. George heat.  Clyde and I decided we were going to shoot for sub-32 today to see how things were.  We took off and hit the first 2 miles at 4:52 and 4:58.  Happy to see this.  Just stayed relaxed running with Clyde for the first half of the race.

I pushed past Clyde just before mile 4 when I saw a Suburban coming up the road.  We were also passing many of the 5k walkers.  Clyde went on one side of the road and I went on the other side.  I did not choose wisely.  The Suburban kept coming close to me and I ended up hitting a 5k walker on accident trying to squeeze through.  I "gently" slapped the car and was not happy.  It got me out of my rhythm a bit but I kept on going.

Clyde went past me just after 5 miles and I was only a couple steps behind him.  The last mile through town is slightly up hill and not the best way to end a race.  Clyde "chicked" me at the end but I was happy with the end result today.

It is nice to be feeling healthier and healthier each day.  I reflect back on 2009 and the first part of 2010 and how tough it was to be injured and then try and slowly come back.  It is still a process and I need to be patient.  Everything is moving in the right direction.  Happy to see Clyde get the win and everyone else run well today.

On a side note: I got on the bus heading up to the start and I saw my hand massage friend again.  Two sightings in one week is more than I can handle!  I need to be careful out there.

Two hand massages in one week - Katie may not be happy about that!

Would have rather been running with you guys today.

Great to see you out racing! For a slow, old runner like me it is fun to associate with you guys and try and learn from watching and listening.

Hey Logan Great race!! Awesome time!!

Quick question what would you recommend doing for speed work if I wasn't able to hit the track!!! Would marathon paced tempos be smart??
