Enjoy running and fight off heart disease or diabetes that has been passed on for many generations. Try and break the cycle.

Personal:

I am currently 39 years old. I have a 11 year old girl, Norah, a 9 year old boy, Oliver, and a 6 year old girl, Myla, who are wonderful. I am a SPED Teacher at Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah. I also coach the cross country and track teams at Desert Hills High.

3 miles in the morning with the team over to Hidden Valley and back.

6 miles this afternoon with some of the team before the banquet. We did a 2 mile warm up and then did 4x1000m on the track. I pushed Darian and Meghan today. It was really windy so that didn't help the cause. I only had time for a mile cool down before the banquet. What a great evening!

Ran with Darian and Clyde this morning to give her a little bit of a push for a mini workout. We started at the high school and it was really cold. We ran over to the Bloomington Loop and then extended all the way up to River Rd. and then back to the school. Right around 7:00/mile. Kind of a rough week of running. I need to get my mind right.

6 miles in the morning. 3 by myself and then 3 with the team. Cold.

6 more miles in the afternoon when I got home from meetings. Warmer weather but still a little chilly. I started to push Norah in the jogging stroller but it was way too cold for her. I took her back home and then went over into Santa Clara.

Track workout today with the team. I pushed the boys. We did a ladder workout. I felt pretty good and the boys ran well. 7 total miles. Cold weather.

Jogged over to Hidden Valley with the team and then we did 6x400m hill repeats on the dirt. I pushed the girls today. Solid effort by everyone. We cooled down back to the school. Felt good.

Big trail run this morning. I started at my house and then went over to run Barrel Roll. I did one loop and then ran back down the hill towards Santa Clara to meet up with some of the kids. I had them come over for a fun run today. I did Barrel Roll a second time and it felt pretty good. I pushed the pace back home. I was happy with the effort today due to the large amount of hills. It was a very solid workout. Great way to end the week. I think I am out of my funk now. I am a little sore but no to bad.

7 miles in the afternoon. We went and did a little workout at BHNP for the last "big" workout of the year. Nice little 2 mile tempo run. I am excited to see how the team does this weekend at Nike. I don't think we will get in the championship race but the other races will still be fast. It will be a great experience for the team in preparation for next year.

10 miles in the morning. I looped from the high school over into Bloomington and then back along the trail. I then tacked on another 3 miles with the kids.

6 miles this afternoon with the kids. We looped around Webb Hill. Absolutely perfect weather. Went to see April to help with my tight calves and plantar issue. Excited to go to Arizona tomorrow.

I was up late last night finishing up a paper for one of my graduate classes. I was crazy tired this morning so I slept in a little and ended up running 7 miles this morning. Felt good but I know I will be tired driving to Phoenix for Nike Southwest.

We are in Phoenix for the Nike Southwest race. This is the first time I have brought kids here. I do not have any expectations right now but just want them to get their feet wet and get the experience to build on for the future. I woke up and ran 10 miles along the busy streets of Phoenix. I did an out and back loop. The traffic was very busy but the weather was nice and warm in the morning. Happy to be in a little warmer weather. I averaged 6:48/mile.

6 miles this afternoon running barefoot at Toka Sticks Golf Course, where the race is at. I did 3 miles with my team and then saw Dave so we ran the course in the opposite direction. Felt really nice running barefoot on a golf course and having no one yell at me to get off the golf course!

So much going on this weekend so I only had time for 7 miles this morning. We had to hurry over to get to the first race. I was happy with the effort from my team but we did not run very good. It was a good experience but the team learned that running with the big boys and girls is a lot different than running against the same people they always run against. Something to build on for the future. Another solid 70 mile week.

AM 1 - Ran 8 miles this morning over into Santa Clara and back. Nice morning for a run. 6:44/mile.

AM 2 - Went to a doctor's appointment for Katey and the baby and then came home and ran with Norah in the stroller around Ivins for 6 miles. I had to get my second run in early since family was coming into town. Norah loved it.

Ran from the house and went along Dixie Dr. over to the Bloomington Loop and then back around on the DC trail. I averaged 6:51/mile for 11 miles. My mom told me about a fun 3 mile run for Anytime Fitness. It was very low key so I ran with a bunch of Katey's family. I then went back out for another 3 miles while everyone was standing around. Nice total of 17 miles for the day. Happy to be done.

Lots of family stuff again today so I could not go as long as I wanted. I started at the house and then went to do my hilly run into Kayenta. 6 miles out and then 6 miles back. Lots of rabbits all over to make the run memorable and just an overall nice day. 6:55/mile overall. I felt a little frisky and pushed the last mile in 5:06. Not bad. Maybe my legs want to go fast again.

8 miles this morning. I got a good nights rest and felt good this morning except for the fact that Thanksgiving was last week. I didn't overeat but I just did not eat the healthiest food. This morning was my cleansing run. I will not go into details.

6 miles this afternoon after my faculty meeting. I looped from the high school and around Webb Hill. I averaged just around 7:00/mile. Nice afternoon for a run.

10.10 miles this morning with Clyde. We started at his house and then did the usual DC loop. Nice cool morning and not crazy fast. It was good to run with the man, the legend again.

6.25 miles this afternoon with the cross country team. We ran down to Webb Hill and then did 3x800m repeats up the beast. It was a good little workout for the kids in preparation for this weekend.
