I decided that I need a break today.  My legs need a cold bath and lots of Ibuprofen.  I am planning on taking this week easy and then starting up with the training more next week.  I had to do a lot of explaining to fellow teachers and students about the race.  I feel alright mentally but need to start looking towards another race right now.  I got Paul Pilkington's (Weber State's coach and former Olympian) number from a student teacher (Lindsey Anderson) that runs for him and helps coach at Weber State.  I am going to give him a call and see if he might help me in anyway to continue improving.  I think my next race or races will be in the Strider's series and then for sure the Ogden Marathon in May.  I want to do well with those races.  I have done of lot of races lately and am slightly burned out so I will revamp the training and shoot for those races at the start of next year.

Logan 1st off congrats on the accomplishment, what an awesome thing to take part in! Sounds like it was quite a struggle, thats why we do it though, those days end up being either good memories or good learning times or both!! we wouldn't do it if it was always easy!

I'd love to run on Saturday, I am going to be Mr. mom this week, Kel is going to San diego with her mom and sis. so let me know what time and I will see if I can get a sitter for the boys! love to hear about the race, and if you didn't hear Shane won the striders 50 miler last weekend! We will get him on this blog soon!

Again Congrats, I can't believe how sucked into the trials I got this weekend, I bet I checked the blog and other sight 50x's to get updates! It was fun!

Logan,

Congrats on running in the trials. You'll come back stronger I'm sure. You deserve to take a few days off and rest.

I noticed that you want to run an ultra before you die. I have the ultra for you. The Antelope Island Buffalo Run in March. It's a 25K, 50K, and 50 mile trail race that I put on every year. We have about 200 runners between the three races and we have a good time. If you're interested, let me know. We also have several training runs out there thru the winter.

Good luck with your training.

Lybi and I were thinking maybe you had a rough time towards the end due to blood loss (we saw the pics of you with the bloody nipples - didn't look good)! J/K

In all seriousness, echoing the comments of the others, you have done a phenomenal job to get where you are after only 3 years of running. Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration to all of us. We actually got up at 4:30 AM Arizona time to watch the race webcast, too bad they only showed the leaders the entire time.

In regards to the 8-10 on Saturday we need to define "won't be very fast" for an Olympic qualifier "won't be very fast" or for an everyday trudger "won't be very fast" haha, trust me our "won't be very fast" will be just fine for a recovery run for the Oly Trials qualifier!!! I let Nick know last night he is in, we just need to get sitters as he too is Mr. mommin it this week both our wives are headed to San diego! you game for a run in the valley? that would make it easier for getting a sitter! Let me know! Cheers!

Logan,

Your picture is pretty stinkin awesome. You should frame it and put it by the front door for a constant reminder and a conversational piece.

Logan, You deserve the break. You have accomplished a lot in the last 5-wks. Truly Amazing! I always get a little post-marathon depression until the next one is on my calendar. I look forward to seeing what you can do in Ogden.
