5 miles total this morning. Did some of the workout with the girls at BHNP. Fartlek = 1, 2, 2, 2, 1. Good stuff.

Good long drive up to Huntsville for the weekend. Love holiday weekend traffic :)

Met up with Ben this morning and drove up to Monte Cristo and ran back down to Hunstville Park. Really nice of him to join me this morning and take a short break from the Ogden Crew. The temps were 49 degrees when we stepped out of the car. I could see my breath. Awesome!

I was going to do a progression run but switched it to do what Ben was doing. It seemed more fun :) Workout was 10 miles at sub 6:20, 3 miles of 1:1, 1 mile recovery at sub 6:20, 2 miles at marathon pace, and then cool down with all miles under 6:20. Felt good from the start even though I could feel the elevation. The cooler temps made a big difference. Hit right around 5:00 or just under for the 1 min. sections and then did 5:30 and 5:39 for the two marathon miles. I want to keep dropping that pace as the summer goes on. Felt good on the cool down. Hit 6:05/mile for the entire run. Super stocked after this one. Very positive step in the right direction.

Great to have Ben there with me. Fun to see him.

Happy 4th of July! Ran over to Huntsville Park to get some miles in. I was planning on doing the 5k but Norah really wanted to do the 1 mile race so I did that with her instead. She ran a 10:45 and only walked for 20 seconds. She had a great finish! In the middle of the run she said, "This is fun!" Music to my ears! I did another 8 miles around Huntsville and my average was 6:59/mile. 12.4 miles total.

Grateful for the freedoms in which we all enjoy.

Was going to do a workout this morning in Reno but I didn't know the routes around town and was feeling a little flat. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law live in a very hilly area so I went exploring this morning. My legs were tired from the long drive yesterday. Reno is a pretty hilly place. 7:21/mile and ended up doing a decent amount of climbing.

I think we are going to Lake Tahoe tomorrow so I plan on running around there for a while.

Item off the Bucket list was checked off today. We drove over to Lake Tahoe and I really wanted to run some of the Tahoe Rim Trail. Started at Mt. Rose Summit and ran to Spooner Summit. The whole run I had incredible views of Lake Tahoe. It was absolutely breathtaking. The first 10 miles were nice and relaxed high fiving hikers as I ran by them. I had the next 7 miles be a lot of climbing back to one of the peaks. The last few miles were rolling hills which were a great release from the legs. I didn't start until a touch later but the temps were mid 70s with lots of mountain breezes throughout the entire run. I kept seeing signs saying to watch out for bears and cougars. Luckily I didn't see either of them. I also was grateful to find three big patches of snow so I enjoyed sucking down on that. Probably not the smartest thing but oh well. It was great! One of the best parts of the run was finding a well pump that had freezing cold water to refresh myself. It was on top of the mountain in the middle of nowhere. Awesome stuff. I ended up hopping in Lake Tahoe to reward myself for the run. Spent the entire run above 7500 feet!

25 total miles and a memory I will never forget. Ate at T's Mexican Rotisserie after wards. The veggie burrito was to die for!!!

Legs were a little flat this morning but felt suprisingly good. Ran around Reno again and all of its rolling hills. The last two miles back up to the house were straight uphill. 7:35/mile for 9 miles total. Now to relax for the rest of the day.

Didn't have enough time for more mileage because we have a long drive back from Reno. Did 10.6 total miles around Reno and finished with the last 2.5 miles which was straight uphill with 30 seconds hard/30 seconds easy. Felt suprisingly good. Good end to the week!

Now I am ready to get back into the routine and back with the TEAM.
