Stayed up way too late last night talking with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law in Provo. We are up here because Katey did an 8k trail race. She rocked it out and did awesome. It started and finished at Big Springs Park up Provo Canyon so it was fun getting up to some beautiful country. The kids and I watched Katey come in and then I ran back to their house (it is near Rock Canyon).

It was pretty dang hot once I started running around 10:00am. I warmed up to Vivian Park and stopped for a potty break. I decided to hit a 3 mile tempo along the trail and see how it would feel. I hit 5:28, 5:18, and 5:26. Not bad considering the temps were really hot. As I was running on the trail, I had a guy on a bike yell at me, "Stay in the runner's lane buddy!" I went around some people and apparently went in the bike lane. I was fired up and was really glad he was going in the opposite direction. Bikers drive me crazy!

I stopped to get some water at Nuuns Park and then kept going. I felt like I needed to hammer one more mile so I hopped back on the trail and hit a 5:01 mile. It has been a while since the legs have gone that fast. It actually felt pretty good.

I kept it on cruise control back to the house and ended up averaging 6:40/mile for the 15 miles. Not a bad way to end the week. Now we travel farther up north to Logan for a few days and then to Huntsville. Should be a fun week with family!

Nice push - no ill reprocussions from the other day it looks like.

We missed you this morning, but no one could stay up anyway!
