I was the first runner on my team (Soar Feet).  We were in the mixed division.  My team had a couple women on it that have done a few marathons and also a couple men that have done a marathon or too.  One guy on the team has done a bunch of ultra-marathons.  He and I were in the same van so I talked with him about the possibility of doing an ultra-marathon.  I got a lot of great input from him and will most likely pace him during the Wasatch 100 in September.  He is a really nice guy.  The 1st leg was really hot starting at Noon but it was nice to get us started off on the right foot.  I ran the 5.1 miles at 5:48/mile.  It got really hot quick.  I didn't want to go and kill myself right at the first.  It was fun to get going with the race though.  I was in the first van and we got done about 4:30 PM.  We took a short break and then I ran again at 7:50.  I ran the downhill section (13th leg) from Snowbasin.  I was flying down the mountain at a good pace.  I hit under 4:00/mile pace and realized I was going way to fast.  I was moving and ended up with 5:13/mile pace.  It was the longest section of the relay (7.8 miles) so I was glad to do that for my team.  The first van got done and then we tried to get some sleep before we started again in the morning.  I maybe got an hour in before I had to run.  I ran into Ruth and Ally from the Pine View team.  They recognized my singlet so we chatted for a little bit.  Dave is going to have a really good cross country team this year.  He has a couple of really good runners!

Impressive performance on those first two legs, Logan. I think your average pace was similar to or faster than Sasha's.

You actually ran both of those legs faster than me. I did the first one in 30:07, and the second in 41:40.

Logan - I think speed-wise you are on schedule for at least a 2:27 in St. George. To verify, run in one or more of the following races: Murray Fun Days 5 K, Sandy Classic 10 K, Draper Days 5 K, or DesNews 10 K.
