6 miles this morning. I was planning on going longer but my clutch broke on my truck on the way to school. I ran home and had to deal with the truck as well. Fun stuff!

7 miles in the heat this afternoon. I ran with the boys over to Little Valley. It was nice and toasty today. Glad I was able to survive. Leg keeps feeling better and better each day.

Club run with the guys. Nice and warm with temps about 67 degrees this morning. Ran almost 3 before the regular loop and then extended back around Sunrise Ridge for another couple miles after with Clyde. 7:08/mile. Leg keeps feeling better. Just really tired. I have one last paper to write and then I am done with graduate school for a couple weeks.

Another 4 miles this afternoon. Ran with the B group girls today. We did 8x200m with 200m recovery. Nothing fancy but a solid push for them. The weather was so dang hot.

10 miles in the morning.

I ran from the house and did my Highway 91 out and back run. Nice weather and I felt pretty good this morning.

3 miles this afternoon with the distance kids in Nephi on our way up to the BYU Invite. I hucked the javelin after. I might need to showcase my talent there.

Ran from the hotel in Provo up into Provo Canyon for a while and then came back down. Felt pretty good for the run. The highlight of the run was drinking from a natural spring water fountain. Delicious! Averaged 6:55/mile.

Ran just over 4 miles with the distance kids around Provo. Way too much traffic for me. We all survived though.

Woke up early this morning to get a run in with Dave before the 2nd day of the meet. I ran a little before Dave met me at the hotel. We went up Provo Canyon again and enjoyed the goodness of the natural spring water fountain. Another good run. Nice to run with Dave.

Happy with a solid week before the Zion 50 next week. It should be fun running but the weather is supposed to be hot. Clyde will be our mule and help us along. It should be loads of fun. Yee haw!

3rd place behind Dave who almost got the 1st place guy at the end. Cramped up for the last 20 miles in the legs and especially calves. Way too hot today. 90+ degrees. Happy with the result considering the weather and it was my first 50 miler. More details later. Dave ran great today.

8 miles this evening with Dave from the hotel in Provo. We had to deal with some very wet weather today but we ended up surviving. Nice weather for a run.

Just a few miles this morning before the final day of the state track meet. Ran 2 miles with Dave and then extended to get 8 for the day. Glad that I took a big recovery week because my body needed it.

Happy to see the boys team take 2nd at state and the girls take 6th. Combined scores for boys and girls and Desert Hills took 1st overall! Great year.

8 miles after all the kids went home today from school. Kind of busy at work but I needed to get out. I went towards the Arizona Strip. A guy on the street said to me, "Kind of hot to be running, don't you think?" My reply, "It is only 100 something degrees. Perfect running conditions." I have lost my mind. Nice and steady and happy to get a decent run in.

Going to only hit about 70 something miles this week in preparation for Squaw Peak next week. I hope the baby comes early or late so I do not miss this race.

8 miles this morning before heading in to work. Warm weather is back for morning runs. Yuck! Nice and steady out through Ivins towards Unity Park.

6 more miles this evening around Ivins again. Nothing fancy but extra hot today. 100+ degree weather is not that fun to run in.

Ran with the Circle on Clyde's secret route. Nice and toasty this morning. We all decided that we need an ice bath. This weather is so lovely!

Nice run this morning out along Snow Canyon Parkway. I realized once again why I love this route. The mountains and houses block the sun. It was nice and shaded for the entire run. I took an ice bath last night so I felt pretty good.

I spent all afternoon playing with Norah and planned on running with my dad while he rode the mountain bike. He said it was too hot. I ended up going and running Barrel Roll. It was a lot of fun. I saw a ton of rabbits and enjoyed a great trail run.

Did my hilly Kayenta run this morning. The temps were cooler but the wind was howling the entire run. Lots of headwind today and especially up the canyon. Just tried to stay relaxed and enjoy the run as much as possible. I really dislike running in the wind though.

Fun run with Dave this morning. We started at his house and looped out into Washington Fields and then back up River Rd. and over Foremaster. Lots of hills so a decent workout overall. The wind was blowing a little and temps were cooler so it turned out to be a really nice run. Dave and I discussed the plan for next week at Squaw Peak. I am pretty excited to see what we can do.

The exciting news for the weekend is we are going to probably have our little boy on Tuesday. Yes, we are planning the arrival of our new one around Squaw Peak! I am excited to see the little guy.

9 miles this morning over on Barrel Roll with my dad riding his mountain bike. Lots of people out for Memorial Day (mountain bikers). My dad told me to just take off and so I started to chase 2 mountain bikers. They took off up the mountain and thought they were going to drop me. I caught up to them in less than a mile. I dropped them and they were totally surprised. It is always fun to see bikers be astonished of runners blowing by them. Pushed the last 2 miles back to the truck and felt great for a Monday. Hopefully it carries over to this weekend's race.

3 miles this morning over to Santa Clara and back before going to the hospital. I was going to go a little longer but decided against it. I am glad I did because we were in labor and delivery for the rest of the day.

Oliver Logan Fielding was born at 9:25pm. 7 lbs. 12 oz. Poor guy looks just like me. Hair all over his body. (Pictures will follow).

6 miles late this evening at about 10pm. Spent a long day at the hospital and ended up doing a ton of homework since I was at the hospital with the new baby the last two days. I got out later than planned but it was nice because of the cooler temps and quiet streets. I really like that every now and then. Nice and easy.

3 easy miles this morning pushing Norah in the jogging stroller before going to the hospital and picking up Oliver and Katey. Glad to get both of them home. Tons of homework for the rest of the day plus holding the little one.
