| | I was supposed to run with Dace this morning but I slept in by accident. I woke up and did 12 miles out along the Snow Canyon Parkway. I could have worn a short sleeve shirt at 5:30am this morning. I like the warmth. I averaged 6:55/mile. |

Decent workout to finish out the week. I wasn't able to run with Dave and Clyde this morning because Katey was doing a sprint triathlon. It was fun to watch her. I got out the door around 12:15pm and I knew it was going to be a hot run. I ran down through the Santa Clara Valley and all the way over past Tonaquint Park. I had to stop and get water 3 different times. I kept the pace honest and finished with a 6:26/mile average. I wanted to do the last 6 miles at goal marathon pace but I was way too dehydrated so I just kept it steady. I was spent at the end of the run. Running in 85 degree weather will do that to you!
Not a bad week. I had a good workout on Wednesday and just need to hit some good workouts for the next month in preparation for the marathon. |

| | 8 miles this morning around Ivins at 6:51/mile overall. Decent start to the week. Another easy 3 miles in the evening with Katey while pushing Norah in the stroller. We went over to Unity Park and back. It was fun running with the girls.

| | I am in a major funk with my running right now. I have been so busy with work and coaching soccer right now that I am not mentally in it. I went out after a long day (9pm) with my trail shoes and head lamp. I went from the house over towards Jacob Hamblin and did the Barrel Roll loop. It was really dark and I had to keep the pace nice and slow but it was quite relaxing to get out and not worry about pace or any cars. I had a few encounters with some uneven rocks and crazy rabbits! Overall it was a great run and was exactly what I needed. Katey was a little worried because I took a little longer than anticipated. She eventually forgave me. |

| | Did 3 miles before everyone else showed up. We ran the St. George Ironman course. Yeah!!! I mainly ran with Aaron and Clyde. It was raining and the wind was blowing but we still ran pretty good. We averaged 6:35/mile overall. I need to grit down and focus over the next couple of weeks in preparation for the marathon if I want to do respectable. It has been crazy at work lately and coaching is taking a lot of time as well. Life is good and I am happy so we will see how everything goes.

| | We are up north this weekend and stayed with Katey's brother and sister-in-law in Provo. They live just above the MTC so I ran up in the mountains. I ran up Rock Canyon until the snow got to deep and then came back down and ran along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. I didn't realize I was so close to the big "Y" so I thought what the heck and decided to run up to it. Little did I know that it was over a 1000 ft. climb in less than a mile with 11 lovely switchbacks! I would be lying to say it was fun but I truly felt the power of the Jimmer as I kept going up. I enjoyed the down hill and then kept going on the regular trail. Great weather for running and now I can die a happy man since I ran up to the "Y". Lovely day! |

| | Now that we are up in Logan, I decided to go up the River Trail in Logan Canyon. I took that up and then hit the Spring Hollow trail. Little cooler temps this morning but overall a nice day for running. The quads are feeling it a little bit now. I have been so focused on finishing out the soccer season at the high school that my running has been a little off lately. These last couple trail runs have been quite enjoyable though. |
