Phoenix Marathon (26.2 Miles) 02:31:53, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 3 | | 7th place overall today with a time of 2:31:53. Felt happy with the first 21 miles and then the wind finallly caught up to me and made me flat and tired for the rest of the race. Wish I could have finished stronger. Report to come soon. Happy for Riley, Jason, Clyde, and Dave. The Utah contingency did well today. Still have work to do. |

| | Car wash fundraiser went well today. 4.25 miles out by my parent's house to figure out a Power Run loop. I think I found a good one. This way we can do it there and then hop in the pool after wards.
Good solid recovery week. Glad to get going again.

| | Met up for practice this morning with the team. 7 miles total. Warm up and then did 8x1:00min. hard/1:00min. easy with Courtney. Cooled down back to the school. Nice loop from the school up to 2450. Core afterwards.
6 miles pushing Oliver in the jogging stroller this afternoon. The wind didn't make it easy. Fun to get him out though. He loves it!

| | Met up with the team for the workout. Ran with the boys today. 2 mile warm up, 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4, 4:4, 3:3, 2:2, 1:1 (Fartlek run), cool down back to the school. Very good workout considering much of this is rolling or up hill along the golf course. The boys were moving. Glad this old guy could hang on for a little bit of it. Core and stretch after wards. Ran an extra 2 miles with some of the guy after practice to get 10 for the morning. Solid workout that needs to be done again.
Pushed Oliver and Norah in the double wide this afternoon to the park. Nice and windy made it quite a memorable run. Fun to spend time with the kiddos though.

| | Ran from the house out through Kayenta and then to the Shivwits Reservation. Overcast and slight breeze made for a great run. Kept it nice and relaxed. It has been a while since I have been out that way. 6:57/mile overall.
Listened to my iPod shuffle while on this run. I haven't listened to music on a run for probably 2 years. I realized this due to the music I was listening to. Older stuff.

Decent week of running with the kids. Lots of them are gone on vacation so I am excited for everyone to get back on to a regular routine next week.

| | Met up with Steve, Clyde, and Dave and Steve's house for a trail run. It was fun meeting up with the 435ers. I really enjoy running on the Zen Trail. It is a lot of fun. Bear Claw Poppy Trail. Not so much fun. The trail was all marked up because of a mountain bike race. Two jerk bikers looked at as funny and said, "Do you guys know their is a bike race going?" We didn't see any bikers and were done well before the race started. Bikers drive me up the wall sometimes. Sorry Clyde.
I felt frisky the whole run for some reason. It was a beautiful day and I was happy to be out with the guys. Ended up doing 2 more miles at the end to get 80 miles for the week. Solid week during Spring Break. Happy to get back into a regular routine again starting Monday.

| | Ran out in Hurricane between races. I didn't want to sit around and get restless so I planned on doing a workout in Hurricane. I ran from the high school and went out towards Sand Hollow. It was a pretty sweet road. Lots of bikers and a beautiful place to run. On the way back I did 3x1/2 mile repeats at 2:30 and then finished with 5x.25 mile repeats at 1:11. Felt good to get some turnover in the legs. I was quite dehydrated and happy to be done. Decent workout with all things considered. 13 miles total for 6:40/mile overall. |

| | 3 miles to Hidden Valley today. 7.5 miles total this afternoon. 2 mile warm up and then helped the girls. I ran with Court for a 5:45 mile and then paced on the first 1200. Plan was to do another one but much of the team was flat today for some reason. Did 2x300m and then 4x100m all out with surges. 1 mile cool down with the team. I felt like I needed to try and hit some fast miles on the track. Mark ran the first 800m of both of them with me. I hit 5:13 and then 5:08. Solid times considering how hot it was today. I have my work cut out for me in the Coach's Mile at the Panther Relays. Dave looks strong right now. Another mile cool down with Mark. Decent start to the week. Lets keep it going. |

7 miles total in the afternoon. Tweeked the workout a bit due to the wind and rain. I cannot believe how windy it was today on our track. 12x400m with heart rate recovery. Included 4 surges within the 400 to have the team work on surging to the next group. Good workout and I realize more and more each day coaching basketball would be easier each time I hop in a workout :) Team is working hard right now and I appreciate the effort I see each day.
