Enjoy running and fight off heart disease or diabetes that has been passed on for many generations. Try and break the cycle.

Personal:

I am currently 39 years old. I have a 11 year old girl, Norah, a 9 year old boy, Oliver, and a 6 year old girl, Myla, who are wonderful. I am a SPED Teacher at Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah. I also coach the cross country and track teams at Desert Hills High.

I woke up feeling good and ready to go out for my long run.  It was a little cloudy but the weather was not bad.  I did my North Ogden run where the first 9 miles were uphill or rolling and then slightly downhill with some rollers on the way back.  The roads were a little slick due to some snow still on the ground.  I did the first half of the run with a little bit of snow on the ground which kept the pace a little slower.  The sun eventually came out for just a little bit and cleaned up roads quite nicely.  I took a quick potty break at 9 miles and then decided to kick it up a notch.  Paul Pilkington wanted me to do 3 miles at tempo pace (5:20) towards the end of the run.  I got to mile 13 feeling fine and then really got the legs moving.  I did the next 3 miles at 5:08, 5:03, and 5:18/mile pace.  The last one was a little slower due to some more snow on the road so I had to be careful.  I finished up the run with 2 miles of a cooldown.  I did some strides at the end of the run right before I got to the house.  I averaged 6:18/mile overall for the run. 

I hit 130 miles for the week which I never thought to be possible.  I don't think I will go much more than that.  My body suprisingly responded well to this week.  I wanted to see if I could run 130 miles in a week.  I think some factors that helped were getting lots of fluids and getting plenty of rest.  I am happy to be done for the week and also excited for this afternoon.  I am going to get my first massage.  Alright!  My body needs it.

You are a monster! Keep in mind that all of the mileage hogs like Brian Sell, Nate Jenkins, and Peter Gilmore do their 150 miles/week in 7 days, and you are doing 130 in 6, so you are right up there per/day with guys like that. Nice work.

Holy Logan! The big 1-3-0. The funny thing is I consider 65, half of what you did a high mileage week. Its just a paradigm switch. I bet you need your massage and your day of rest. Ten cuidado muchacho!

wow, wow, wow, i remember this summer when you hit your first 100 mile week! adding 30 to that is incredible, hope you enjoyed the massage! Be careful those things can be addictive!
